[Aces-support] octave version

Hello,

- I'd like run a fairly simple matlab script (no toolboxes need) using Octave,
however, the currently installed version (2.1.50) is more than 3yrs old and
gives a problem with a function 'interp1' function('extrap' option). According
to GNU documentation this should not be an issue in the current release. I am
wondering if it is possible to update Octave..?

- I tried to run Octave on Itanium nodes. Is there a queuing system on these or
should i just submit a job in a regular fashion?

- Using 'nohup' with Octave does not seem to work. Is there a way to do 'nohup'
differently?
